Kim’s work has appeared at Henry Street Settlement, Dance Theater Workshop, John Ryan Theater and The Works Studio in NYC; Seattle Center, Broadway Performance Hall, and Velocity Dance Center in Seattle; and Magicopolis Theater, Studio A, and OneLeaf Art Gallery in LA.
Kim collaborates with Aaron Draper on projects for NYC-based Banana Peel Dance, a performance ensemble that fuses street dance, modern dance, improvisation, live music and theater. Their evening-length work, Something Stolen…Well, Borrowed, a dance theater comedy about wedding mishaps, debuted at the historic Henry Street Settlement in NYC in March, 2009.
Prior to moving to NY, Kim co-founded CoLab Dance Theater in LA with four other dance/film artists. The LA Times described CoLab’s work as “body-lashing anarchy to great effect”. Kim received her BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA.
